He has lectured worldwide on best contact lens practice and is also a key opinion leader for all the major contact lens companies. Shelly has also served two terms as the President of the British Contact Lens Association. Manjit is a company director at First Contact Opticians. Her background in business management ensures the smooth day to day running of the practice. Her commitment to delivering exceptional customer service to all patients is at the heart of the practice. She can also be counted on to provide expert advice on the most fashionable frames currently on the market. Manjit is responsible for arranging all the specialist training for the staff in the practice to ensure we are all experts at the top of our game. Though when the new season of Strictly Come Dancing begins, her time in the practice coincidentally seems to drop! She is an avid traveller, having recently added Cuba, Mauritius and Mexico to her growing list of countries visited.
Rakhi started with the practice in 2014 as Practice Manager bringing with her over 13 years of experience, having previously worked for a major company in a managerial capacity. Rakhi carefully handpicks our frame selection to ensure a dynamic range of styles to suit everyone’s tastes. Rakhi will also work with Adam to assist patients with choosing frames, and taking the measurements for their new lenses. She may also be found teaching some of our new contact lens wearers how to successfully handle and care for them. Rakhi enjoys movies and reading, and is very proud to have completed a full Tough Mudder in 2018 alongside Samir and Adam, raising almost £2,000 for charity.
Linda joined the practice in September 2015. She had been a patient of ours for over 19 years and loved it so much that she decided she would work with us! As a former patient, Linda has always valued the high level of service and quality of products that she has received from us and is keen to make sure that our patients receive the same service. Linda's role in the practice extends beyond the reception desk; she is also one of the staff members who will help you with some of the initial tests, before you go through to see Samir. Linda has a very active social life, and also manages to fit in regular yoga classes.
